E.H. Taylor was a man of vision and determination who spared no expense in achieving his goal of creating great whiskies of “topmost class.”
Known as the father of the modern bourbon industry, Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr. left an indelible mark. After the Civil War, he established the O.F.C. Distillery, now known as Buffalo Trace, where we make E.H. Taylor whiskies today. During his storied career, he revolutionized the industry with methods still in use today like copper fermenters, column stills and climate-controlled aging warehouses. E.H. Taylor’s straight Kentucky whiskies are made in recognition of the Colonel’s uncompromising dedication to great bourbon.
Crafted with skill and dedication at our historic Buffalo Trace Distillery, this Small Batch Bourbon has been aged inside 19th century aging warehouses constructed by E.H. Taylor himself. We evaluate and select specific barrels from the warehouse to create the perfect blend of distinctive character that is like no other. This bourbon is a true sipping bourbon to honor the resolute legacy of E.H. Taylor Jr.
Small Batch has caramel corn sweetness, mingled with butterscotch and licorice. The aftertaste is a soft mouthfeel that turns into subtle spices of pepper and tobacco.
